Volunteers needed for Shoreline Clean-Up at Black Hawk Lake

With highs predicted in the lower 70’s this Saturday volunteers at Black Hawk Lake will be able to appreciate the weather during the Shoreline Clean-Up day. The call is still out for volunteers to pick up trash and debris and help with trimming or removing trees in designated areas. People are encouraged to bring gloves, protective footwear, brush loppers, and maybe even a chainsaw. Everyone will gather at the open shelter house in Town Bay at 8:00 am on Saturday, April 16, where groups will then be disbursed to designated worksites. Clean-up is expected to last until around noon with volunteers breaking for lunch served by Lake View Hometown Pride. Organizers of the Shoreline Clean-Up include the City of Lake View, the Iowa DNR, Lake View Hometown Pride, the Lake View Community Club, the Black Hawk Lake Protective Association, and the Black Hawk Lake Men’s Club. For anyone questions contact the city office at 712-657-2634.
