Tuesday crash closes part of Hwy 30 in Carroll

Parts of Highway 30 on the west side of Carroll were closed down on Tuesday afternoon following an accident which took place at the intersection of Le Clark Road and Hwy 30. The incident occurred in front of Motor Inn at approximately 4:58 pm as 72 year-old Judy Snyder of Auburn attempted to make a left hand turn onto Highway 30 heading eastbound. Snyder’s 2007 Honda CRV was struck on the driver’s side by a westbound 2008 Ford Edge driven by 33 year-old Michaela Neppel of Carroll. Officers from the Carroll Police Department responded to the scene and closed down the westbound lanes of Hwy 30 and diverted traffic around the scene for approximately a half hour. Snyder was transported to St. Anthony Hospital by the Carroll County Ambulance Service with reported minor injuries. Neppel also was reported to have suffered minor injuries. Both vehicles were immobilized and had to be towed from the scene with damage estimated at approximately $3,000 to the Neppel vehicle with the Snyder vehicle also sustaining an estimated $3,000 worth of damage. Snyder was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
