Truck Hits Hydrant; Carroll Water Rusty, But Safe To Drink

Director of Public Works, Randy Krauel, reported that an incident earlier this morning has had an impact on Carroll’s water.

The discharge has resulted in a discoloration of the water supply.

Krauel said he wants to assure residents and businesses that the water has not been contaminated, it is safe to ingest. Once crews have had a chance to finish repairing the hydrant, they will flush lines throughout town to help remove rusty water. He is expecting that this will be able to take place yet this afternoon (Thursday). By the end of today, the majority of colored water problems should be rectified.

Krauel wants to stress the fact that the water is completely safe, but says if residents have questions, they can contact the public works department at 792-1000.
