Three Killed In Three-vehicle Accident Saturday

Three people have died and possibly eight others were injured in a three-vehicle accident yesterday (Saturday) on Interstate 80 near Adair. At approximately 9:10 a.m., a westbound 2007 Volvo semi tractor-trailer driven by 31-year-old Marcelas Engram of Savannah, Ga. crossed the median. He collided with an eastbound 2014 Chrysler Town and Country van driven by 43-year-old Toby Steckler of Audubon, forcing both into the south ditch with the semi trailer blocking both eastbound lanes. A 2008 GMC Yukon, driven by 50-year-old Daniel Doggett of Gretna, Neb., was eastbound and struck the rear of the trailer. A passenger in the Doggett vehicle, 41-year-old Rodney Shane Sanborn of Gretna, Neb. was pronounced dead at the scene. Two children in the Steckler vehicle, 11-year-old Gavin Steckler and 14-year-old Jamison Steckler were also killed in the collision. The names of all others injured are not yet available.
