Three area communities are among the 21 that will be receiving low-cost water quality loans through the State Revolving Fund. The Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has announced the distribution of more than $31.2 million in loans to fund water quality initiatives, including planning and design loans at zero percent to assist with the first phase of project expenses. Both Templeton and Lake View will be taking advantage of these zero interest loans. Lake View will receive $140,000 and Templeton $190,000 for sewer treatment planning and design. Denison Municipal Utilities will be using the $1,648,000 loan for new drinking water wells. The State Revolving Fund has awarded Iowa communities and municipalities more than $2.5 billion in construction loans and nearly $150 million in planning and design loans since the program’s inception.
