At approximately 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a rollover accident west of Jefferson. A 2000 Dodge pickup, driven by 16-year-old Slater Gilbert Kirk of Grand Junction was northbound on Jordan Ave. when he failed to make the curve onto 230th Street, rolling the vehicle into the ditch. Kirk was not injured but his truck was deemed a total loss. He was issued a citation for failure to maintain control and failure to provide insurance.
