Thirty-four-year-old Glenn Edward Summers, Jr. of Glidden was found guilty in Carroll County District Court Thursday of second-degree theft and third-degree burglary, both class D felonies. The charges were the result of a series of burglaries and thefts earlier this year. Another theft charge was dismissed by the court. As part of a plea deal, Summers received a 15-year suspended prison sentence and five years of probation. Authorities in Carroll, Greene and Webster Counties searched for Summers this spring on suspicion of multiple thefts in those counties. He was apprehended by Webster County authorities in May, but escaped from custody and managed to elude authorities for a short time before being taken back into custody.
