Simpson College Joins Polling Ranks Showing Trump With Slight Lead

Simpson College has joined forces with Red America Blue America (RABA), a bipartisan research group, to conduct their first presidential poll. They released their official results this morning (Monday) that shows Donald Trump leading Hillary Clinton by a “razor-thin” margin at 43 percent to 42 percent. Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, has received 10 percent of the vote while Green Party candidate, Jill Stein, is at three percent. Eight percent of respondents said they were still unsure of their choice. Professor Kedron Bardwell, chair of Simpon’s political science department, says the poll shows both Trump and Clinton have loyal supporters with little movement even after the introduction of alternative candidates. This, he says, is even more reason for their campaigns to “ratchet up their ground games,” to ensure the votes are there when needed. The poll was conducted between Sept. 6 and Sept. 8, from a random sampling of 1,054 voters on landlines and cell phones. The margin of error is plus or minus three points.
