Carroll County Emergency crews were called to the scene of a three-vehicle accident at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 8 on Highway 141 east of Manning near Eagle Ave. Witnesses report that a vehicle was stopped to negotiate a turn and was rear-ended by another, forcing it into oncoming traffic where it was struck by the third vehicle. A child involved in the accident, Kori Beckendorf, was reportedly air-lifted to Des Moines for treatment of serious injuries. Authorities closed Highway 141 to through traffic for nearly an hour as they assisted at the scene.
