One person died and another was injured in a two-vehicle accident yesterday morning (Monday) at approximately 8:50 a.m. on Delta Avenue near 300th Street east of Manning. A 2006 Dodge Caravan, driven by 62-year-old Sue Ellen Vaughan of Manning was northbound on Delta Avenue when it crossed the center line and collided head on with a 2010 Chevrolet K3500 pickup driven by 71-year-old Elroy Allen Huisenga of Wall Lake. The Caravan ended up facing east in the southbound lane and the Chevy pickup came to rest on its top facing northbound in the east ditch. Vaughan was pronounced dead at the scene and Huisenga was transported to Manning Regional Healthcare Center with non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Manning Police Department, Carroll County Emergency Medical Services and Manning Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
