Nearly 750 farmers are expected to take part in what is being described as “not just another field day” next Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to noon in Farnhamville. Landus Cooperative will be hosting more than 180 acres of agronomic demonstrations, in-field presentations and industry-leading speakers, including Dr. Fred Below who will discuss the “Six“ Secrets to Soybean Success.” Area farmer and Landus Cooperative board member, Dan Reynolds, previously attended the annual event and said he had, “No idea how big of a deal this plot was. I thought it was just another field day like all the others, but it is not.” Farmers will also be able to hear the latest crop updates and see first-hand the field trial results from agronomists from around the state. They will hear presentations about: corn planting depth; sudden death syndrome management and treatment for soybeans; and the effects of nitrogen and fungicide in a stressful growing season.
