Northey And Young Tour Landus Atlantic Location

As a part of a two-day agricultural cooperative tour, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Bill Northey, and United States Congressman, David Young, toured and held an employee meeting on agricultural issues at Landus Cooperative’s Atlantic location. With 14 grain, agronomy and/or feed manufacturing locations in Congressman Young’s district, the group was interested in discussing the impact of federal regulations on cooperative operations, the need to grow opportunities for export markets and voluntary nutrient management programs being put into place by area farmers and the cooperative. “There are many tough issues facing the agricultural sector,” said Atlantic Operations Manager, Brad Woodward. “We look forward to working with Congressman Young and his team in promoting what’s best for Iowa’s farmers, our members and our employees across the state.” Following the meeting, location manager, Jeremiah Thompson, and Agronomist, Scott Small, demonstrated a nitrogen stabilizer being installed on a customer’s toolbar—utilization of these stabilizers are promoted as part of Iowa’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy.
