Nominations Open For Good Shepherd And Excellence In Education Awards

The Diocese of Sioux City has announced they are now accepting nominations for the Excellence in Education and Good Shepherd Awards. The Excellence in Education Award is for teachers who not only incorporate new and exciting teaching techniques in their classrooms, but also have earned the respect of peers, students and parents, by fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork. Dr. Dan Ryan, Superintendent of Schools, says they are looking for teachers who are exceptional role models both in and out of the classroom. The Good Shepherd Award recognizes other employees within the school that are making a difference. Previous recipients include school administrators, principals, administrative assistants and custodians. Ryan says, these nominees should be admired and respected by their peers, the parents and the students. Award winners will be recognized at the annual Bishops’ Dinner for Catholic Schools which will be held in the fall. Nomination forms are available by contacting any school in the diocese or by following this link. Submissions are due by Friday, May 20.
