Meal prices at CCSD will increase for 4th straight year

For the 2016-2017 school year breakfast prices at all Carroll Community School District buildings will increase with breakfast prices going up by 5 cents and lunch prices increasing 10 cents. The price for lunch at all grade levels, says Director of Business Affairs Gary Bengston, has gone up by a dime for about the last four years at CCSD and many other schools around the state due to imposed federal regulations.

Food Service Director Sara Anderson foresees a loosening of regulations in the government program for both nutritional and pricing requirements which Bengston says is a good thing.

Breakfasts, adult meals, and extra entrée charges, however, are currently a little more flexible. The Carroll School Board approved the meal price increases at their regular board meeting April 18. Prices for extra entrées will remain.
