The McCrary Rost Clinics in Lake City and Rockwell City will be expanding their hours for patients who need to see a medical provider beyond the regular clinic hours. In Lake City, appointments will be scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. On Thursdays, they will see patients from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. In Rockwell City, appointments can be made between 7:40 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesday’s hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Chief Operating Officer at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, Cindy Carstens, said the changes are the result of a community needs assessment survey released last summer. Twenty-six percent of respondents said they could not take time off of work to see their doctor. This, Carstens says, is one way they are working to meet the needs of those individuals.
