Mark Twain Brought To Life At Next American Icon Series Performance At Donna Reed Theater

One of America’s most well-known and most loved story-tellers will be making an appearance at the Donna Reed Theater in Denison on Saturday, March 12 when Jim Waddell of Hannibal, Mo. brings Mark Twain to life on stage at 7 p.m. Waddell has portrayed Twain for over 30 years in the author, Samuel Clemens’, home town. Twain is reported to have drawn on his experiences in Hannibal to create Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, along with a host of other unforgettable characters. Normally, to see this show would require traveling to the Cave Hollow Complex at Mark Twain Caves in Hannibal, where Waddell performs daily. The Donna Reed Theater is truly fortunate to have Mr. Waddell in Denison, said Tim Tracy, coordinator of the American Icon Series at the theater. This will be a rare performance for Waddell outside of Mo. Tickets for the event are $20 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased at the theater by calling 712-263-3334.
