A Carroll man attempted to elude Carroll City Police after an officer signaled for the man to make a simple traffic stop. On Thursday, July 7, at approximately 9:05 p.m., 21-year-old Kole Alexander Higgins of Carroll failed to observe a stop sign at the corner of 16th Street and Quint Street. Carroll police maneuvered to stop his 1990 Volkswagen Corrado. At that time, Higgins attempted to evade Carroll Police, but was apprehended shortly after. Nobody was injured during this incident, and Higgins was charged with eluding at speeds 25 mph over the limit. He was also cited for fraudulent use of registration, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to hold financial liability insurance, improper brake lights, careless driving, driving while suspended and failure to carry registration.
