Since 2004, the Boone Scenic Valley Railroad has been offering a unique winter experience to families who can take a ride from the depot in Boone to the North Pole. Over the years, thousands have shown up in their pajamas to participate in this holiday tradition, and starting Friday, Nov. 25, the journeys will begin again. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 18, passengers will hear the story of Santa’s Scenic Valley ride, they will sing holiday songs and take part in other family-fun activities. Hot chocolate and cookies are served during the ride and everyone gets the chance to talk to and receive a special gift from Santa.
