Iowa College Aid has announced that 16 healthcare professionals will receive loan repayment benefits totaling $705,000. The repayment program aims to attract healthcare professionals to high-need Iowa communities who provide a dollar-for-dollar match for up to four years of service. This year’s recipients include osteopathic doctors, physician assistants, podiatrists and physical therapists. The newly added 16 brings a total of 45 professionals now serving the area communities of Carroll, Lake City, Guthrie Center, Jefferson, Atlantic, Boone, Cherokee, Dunlap, Harlan, Ida Grove and Storm Lake. The maximum annual award is $12,500 for up to four years. The average aggregate award for this year’s recipients was $44,063.
