Landus Cooperative Hosts Roundtable And Tour For Senator Joni Ernst

Last week, board and staff members from Landus Cooperative were joined by members of the Iowa Institute of Cooperatives in hosting United States Senator, Joni Ernst, in a tour of their agronomy and research plot in Farnhamville. Ernst, who is a member of the Senate’s Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry committee is a passionate advocate for agriculture and the farmer members of Landus Cooperative. Milan Kucerak, CEO of Landus said, “There are many tough issues facing the agricultural sector, and we look forward to working with Ernst and her team in promoting what is best for Iowa’s farmers, our members and our employees across the state.” The team participated in a roundtable discussion of the impacts of federal regulations on cooperative operations, employment recruitment issues, the need for expanding opportunities in export markets and the continued need to support biodiesel and ethanol production. Following that meeting, Dave Lemke, a strategic account specialist for Landus, hosted a tour of the coop’s 184-acre research plot, which included the company’s in-field nitrogen management trials.
