Kuemper Catholic Schools Rounding Out Week With Full Slate of Activity

There is never a shortage of activities taking place throughout the Kuemper Catholic Schools System, and President, John Steffes, says there is a comprehensive mixture of science, fine arts, politics and facility changes to round out a very full week. Everyone is excited about construction that is beginning today (Friday).

The Kuemper Tomorrow Capital Campaign is closing in on $4.8 million raised, exceeding the $4.6 million goal. The fine arts students were able to take a trip to Nashville with the help of the Marilyn Setzler program, and have recently returned, tired but thrilled that they were able to record at a real Nashville recording studio as one of their planned outings on the trip. The Setzler program will also be sponsoring a visit from Opera Iowa on Friday, April 8. Steffes said he is excited about this weekend’s fine arts performance, and can’t wait to see his favorite character.

Tickets for tonight’s (Friday) and tomorrow night’s (Saturday) 7:30 p.m. performances as well as Sunday’s 2 p.m. matinee are still available. The high school kids are closing out their science fair today (Friday) and everyone is invited to come in and see just how much science has changed over the years. The displays will be up until about 3 p.m. this afternoon.

Steffes said another event that has a big impact on Catholic Education will be taking place tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. at the high school cafeteria.

The Carroll Chamber sponsored Legislative Forum at Kuemper is open to the public.
