The Kuemper High School Art Club has donated their time and their talent to create two very special murals for the Carroll Police Department. Art instructor, Jodi Steinbach, said they were contacted by Officer Gary Bellinghausen earlier this year to come up with some ideas to honor the current men and women of the Carroll PD as well as those who have served in the past. Club member Jaclyn Krause said the first thing they did was sit down together as a group to add their ideas to the original plan.

Student Tia Nieland said they started working on the two murals in May, putting in time on and off until they were completed on July 6. A senior in the art club, Ashley Wenck, wants to study art after graduation, and said this project was not only fun, but something that can be used for years to come as a part of her portfolio.

For one, Madison Wendl, there was a family tie to a current police officer, but for others, including, McKenna Quandt, this was a way to use their talents while also giving something back to the community.

Other members of the art club include: Jordan Seidl and Abon Ajng. An additional photo of the art club members and their mural can be found below.
