The Iowa State Fair is just around the corner and that means many fairgoers will be taking photos of family and animals. Keep Iowa Beautiful (K-I-B) is offering those photo takers a chance to win a prize for their efforts. They are holding a Daily Photo Promotion Aug. 11 to the 21 at the state fair. They are inviting attendees to capture photos of the fair and submit them for a chance to win a copy of noted Iowan photographer Ty Smedes’ Return of Iowa’s Bald Eagles, Second edition hardcover book. Eleven winners in total will be selected, one for each day of the Iowa State Fair. Gerry Schnepf, Executive Director of KIB, says, “There are wonderful images to be photographed around our great state fair. We are excited to see the Iowa State Fair through the eyes of others.” He goes on to say, “We’re helping to make it beautiful throughout the fairgrounds; that’s why we want others to capture that beautiful side of the fair.” Photos can be taken with cameras or smartphones and emailed to info@keepiowabeautiful.com by midnight each night with contact information to enter the contest. KIB is allowing only one photo per day per person. Winners will be selected after midnight each day and notified within the week of the fair. Attendees can stop by the Keep Iowa Beautiful booth at the fair to learn more about the contest.
