Jefferson Main Street Awards Mini-Grants

Four Jefferson businesses have been awarded mini-grants of up to $250 each from Jefferson Matters: Main Street. The grants were distributed to businesses that have completed improvements to the exterior of their buildings, some who also received in-kind assistance from Design Committee members. Angie’s Teagarden received funds to cover the cost of paint. Riley Hall’s façade was also painted and received a new sign and Jefferson Telecom installed new windows on the south side of the original building. Volunteers also painted the Kendall Building to give the illusion of windows on the upper level. Main Street Director, Peg Raney, says there is still time to apply for a mini-grant through a simple application available at their office or online at www.jeffersonmatters.org. Eligible projects include: painting; tuck pointing; replacement of windows and doors; and removal of non-conforming elements. The grants do not cover labor.
