Jefferson Business After Hours To Be Hosted By Main Street Consultant

Many of the businesses in the historic Jefferson downtown district and Jefferson residents are interested in preservation of the buildings. They are all invited to participate in an upcoming Business After Hours on the subject. The Design Committee of Jefferson Matters: Main Street is hosting Main Street Iowa Design Consultant, Tim Reinders, on Monday, Oct. 24 at the Elks’ Lodge in Jefferson. Reinders has been involved in a number of projects with Jefferson Matters: Main Street, and is one of the two consultants who conduct design consultations for a Main Street District Building. Main Street Director, Peg Raney, said that there has been a lot of interest in façade improvement, which led to the City of Jefferson’s application for a Community Development Block Grant. The grants were awarded for work on 16 downtown facades that will begin in the spring of 2017. Social hour for the free Business After Hours event will begin at 5:15 p.m. and Reinders’ program will run from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with plenty of time for questions afterward.
