Jefferson Authorities Searching For Stray Dog That Bit Child

The Jefferson Police Department is searching for a medium sized, black, white and gray stray dog that has bitten a child. At approximately 7:44 p.m. last night (Tuesday), Brant Schmit of Jefferson reported that his juvenile son had been bitten numerous times by the dog in his yard on West Lincolnway Street. Schmit and his son were sent to the Emergency Department at Greene County Memorial Hospital for treatment while they began the search for the animal, whose whereabouts were still unknown at the time of this broadcast. Anyone with information on the animal is asked to contact the Jefferson Police Department at 515-386-2136.
