The Iowa State University (ISU) Northeast Research and Demonstration Farm in Nashua celebrated its 40th anniversary at its annual fall field day yesterday, Friday, Aug. 26. The 260-acre farm was purchased in 1976 by ISU in conjunction with the Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experimental Association (NEIAEA). Researchers at the facility conduct research on a variety of agronomic crops, fruits, vegetables, soil management, water quality, pest management and soil fertility. ISU researchers gave presentations covering a variety of topics like grain market outlooks and weed management.
