ISU Career Day In Ames Draws More Than 250 Employers

The economy and job creation have been at the top of most people’s mind recently, but organizers for Iowa State University’s College of Life Sciences Fall Career Day are expecting a large employer turnout at their event. Over 250 organizations have signed up to be in attendance at the fair, only 25 behind their record number set last year. Mike Gaul, director of career services for the college, expects interviews by hiring companies the following day to surpass the 950 interviews from last year. “The event speaks highly of the quality of students and programs associated with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences,” Gaul said. “Given the economic conditions associated with many sectors of the ag industry, we are extremely pleased to host such a large and diverse event this year.” The event begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Leid Recreation Athletic Center on Iowa State’s campus in Ames. The Career Day is open to the public and is scheduled to last for six hours, ending at 3 p.m. A link to the employers and organizations scheduled to be searching for employees can be found below this story.
