ISU Alums Awarded At Friday’s Honors and Awards Ceremony

Iowa State University of Agriculture and Life Sciences with the Iowa State University Alumni Association presented awards at the annual Honors and Awards Ceremony on Friday. Cindie Luhman, of Webster Groves, Mo. received the Floyd Andre Award for her contributions to production agriculture, agricultural business and her impact on Iowa agriculture. Luhman received her bachelor’s in Animal Science in 1983. Walter Hill, of Tuskegee, was awarded the George Washington Carver Distinguished Service Award for his leadership and contribution to society. He currently serves as the dean of the College of Agriculture, Environmental and Nutrition Sciences at Tuskegee University in Alabama. Robert E. Walton, Sr. was honored with the Henry A. Wallace award for his work in agribusiness and his contributions in genetics research. He received his doctorate in animal science from ISU in 1961. Nancy Bohrman, of Bode, was awarded the Outstanding Young Professional Award based on her work as an agronomist with Maschhoff Environmental, Inc. She graduated from Iowa State with a degree in environmental science in 2004. Nancy and Richard Degner were presented the Alumni Medal award for their loyal service to the university through alumni-related activities. The couple graduated from Iowa State in 1972. Rachel Allbaugh, of Boone, was recognized with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2004 and currently serves as an assistant professor at the Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine.
