Iowa Youth Offer Political Opinions In Straw Poll Nov. 1

Iowa Secretary of State, Paul Pate, is organizing a statewide Iowa Youth Straw Poll, scheduled to take place tomorrow (Tuesday), Nov. 1. Over 300 schools have signed up to give students a chance to offer their opinion on the election. “I believe the Youth Straw Poll will provide an interesting snapshot of where the presidential, U.S. Senate and congressional races stand, one week before the general election,” Pate says. “The Straw Poll will not necessary be indicative of how elections will turn out, but it will provide some interesting insight into which candidates have appealed to Iowa’s youth.” The Iowa Secretary of State’s Office will begin announcing the statewide results during a Facebook Live video from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Many area schools have signed up to participate, including: AC-GC High School, Ar-We-Va Middle/High School, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Denison Middle School, Glidden-Ralson, Greene County High School, Harlan Community High School, IKM-Manning High School, OABCIG Community Schools, Panorama Middle School and Storm Lake High School.
