Today (Thursday, Aug. 18), Hillary for Iowa announced the launch of “Iowa Women Win,” an organization of more than 200 Iowa women promoting Democratic female candidates from local offices to the White House. This election season sees the largest number of women running for elected positions in the state’s history. Iowa Women Win members are promoting the candidates through phone banking, door knocking, letter writing and hosting events. The more than 200 women in the group includes nearly two dozen state legislators, county chairs and local elected officials. This announcement comes on the 96th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which granted women the right to vote.
