Iowa Fuel Station Support Breast Cancer Awareness During October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Iowa drivers will be seeing a lot of pink across the state. Nearly 30 stations providing E15 kicked off the “Pink at the Pump” campaign Oct. 1 to raise funds for breast cancer support services and increase consumer awareness about E15 fuel at the same time. E15 is blended fuel containing 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent gasoline. The participating retailers will donate 3 cents from the sale of every gallon of E15 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) which focuses on providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer. “We appreciate the support of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association and Iowa Corn this Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” says NBCF Senior Director of Development, Danae Johnson. “Their generous donation will support our mission of Helping Women Now by providing early detection, education and support services to women in all 50 states.” Participating stations will be showing their support with pink nozzles on E15 pumps, pink t-shirts for staff and pink breast cancer awareness products. A listing of local stations participating in the campaign can be found below this story.
