Iowa DOT Asking For Public Input Through Survey

The recent announcement from the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) about the closing of Driver’s Licensing Stations in Carroll and Spencer, along with the closure of seven maintenance garages around the state is just one part of the department’s long-range plans. The Iowa DOT has been working with the Iowa Transportation Commission to develop a framework of how to disseminate future investments to the multi-modal transportation system. A key to that planning is the request for public input. To that aim, a survey has been developed to gather specific public opinion on the vision for the future of transportation in the state. Survey questions will focus on how people want to live and travel in the future and what they think of particular highway investment strategies. The survey and more information about the plan can be accessed by following the link below. Everyone is encouraged to take part in the planning process by providing input, and to stay informed by checking the site regularly for plan updates.
