There was a slight decrease in the number of Iowa home sales in October of 2016 versus the same time period last year, but sellers were able to realize an increase in the median price of their homes. The number of homes dropped 1.4 percent, with 3,425 homes sold this October, down 48 over 2015. The median prices, however rose by an estimated $8,000. The Iowa Association of Realtors says the year-to-date numbers are continuing to show a steady year for Iowa residential sales, with overall sales up 3.5 percent for 2016.
