Iowa Cattlemen’s Association Welcomes New President

The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) welcomed their new president during their annual meeting on Dec. 10 in Ames. Mike Cline, of Elgin, is a fifth generation cattle producer and operates a crop and Angus-based commercial cow-calf herd in Fayette and Clayton counties in Northeast Iowa. Cline’s first experience in the ICA was in 1993 as part of the Young Cattlemen’s Leadership Program. He was elected in the same year to the Iowa Beef Industry Council Board and served in all officer positions during his time on the board. Since 2008, he served on the ICA’s board of directors. Cline believes the association needs to continue to position Iowa cattle producers as a source of high quality beef and achieve that in an environmentally safe manner. He says, “Access to international markets is key for continued growth in Iowa’s beef industry. Cline will serve as the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association president until their next annual meeting in December 2017.
