Hometown Pride Committee Reports Tremendous Success In First Year

The Sac County Hometown Pride Steering Committee and Keep Iowa Beautiful Board of Directors have received their first annual report from the Sac County Hometown Pride Community Coach Kathy Evert. The Sac County Hometown Pride program began in June 2015 and is active in eight communities within the county. The committee aims to renovate and improve towns and points-of-interest in the county and receives funding to do so from the Sac County Board of Supervisors, Sac County Economic and Tourism Development and Keep Iowa Beautiful. “We greatly appreciate all of the funding commitments and volunteer commitments that have been made to this program for Sac County,” said Bruce Perry, Chair of the Sac County Hometown Pride Steering Committee. “There is a whole lot of momentum underway all across our county.” Each city has its own team working within its borders. Some of the highlights from the first year of the program are the replacement of street signs in Early, a car show over Memorial Day in Lytton and the completion of a 5-year strategic plan for Lake View to name a few. If you are interested in what the Sac County Hometown Pride Steering Committee has been working on in your area, contact Bruce Perry at 515-979-5620.
