An unidentified 21-year-old male from Grand Junction was treated for an accidental gunshot wound at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson early this morning (Wednesday). The hospital requested a deputy at 4:12 a.m. to investigate the incident. The male said he had accidentally discharged his hand gun while cleaning it. The round struck him in the upper left leg. He was later transported to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines for removal of the bullet.
