The Region XII Council of Governments primary goal is to assist local governments operate as efficiently as possible, and they will be hosting another of their informative sessions early next month. The City Finance 101 session is being held on Thursday, Nov. 3, and will help provide elected officials with a better understanding of government finance, resources, responsibilities and fraud prevention methods. ISU Extension Program Specialist with the Office of State and Local Government Programs, Cindy Kendall, will be presenting an interactive session to train individuals in leadership positions to make better decisions regarding budgets, projects and to safeguard community assets. Dinner is included with the event which begins at 5:30 p.m. Registration is required and is $15 dollars per person. The event take place at the Region XII training room at 1009 East Anthony Street in Carroll.
