At Monday night’s Glidden City Council Meeting, the city approved the sale of a Glidden-owned residential lot. Glidden City Clerk, Suzy Danner, says this area, called West View, is in a remarkably good location in town.
She went on to say the West View lots have been available to purchase for several years, but the city had not seen any sales until this summer. On April 11, the Glidden City Council passed a resolution that allowed for discounts to be applied to the lots based on the cost of the residence being built.
After the deduction proposal was approved, two lots have sold over the summer, a noticeable improvement to the previous rate of sale. The city has no plans to end the cost saving deductions at this time.
