Glidden sprucing up streets in preparation for 2017’s sesquicentennial

In preparation for their sesquicentennial in 2017 the city of Glidden will be putting in an extra effort this year to spruce things up. City Clerk Suzy Danner says one of the bigger projects they’ll be tackling is street improvements.

The city is projecting to spend just under $250,000 on a seal-coat project which will address cracking in areas around town which are in most need of repairs. Danner says one area has already been identified which hasn’t been addressed for a number of years.

In total the city plans to do repair work on some 32,000 square yards of roadway this summer.
