Four Iowans Honored By Bureau Of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms

Yesterday (Thursday), at the 20th Annual Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) Awards Ceremony at the ATF National Headquarters in Washington, D.C., four Iowans were recognized for their work in bringing down a Sioux City gang member with a long criminal history. Senator Chuck Grassley joined in the praises for the work done by: ATF Special Agent, Todd Monney; Sioux City Police Detective, Troy Hansen; Sioux City Police Officer, Kevin McCormick; and Assistant U.S. Attorney, Forde Fairchild. The four are being honored for bringing Jamal Dean and his associates to justice for their involvement in drug dealing and the attempted murder of a Sioux City police officer. Special Agent Monney received the Distinguished Service Medal, while Detective Hansen, Officer McCormick and Fairchild each received the ATF Honor Award. The Distinguished Service Medal recognizes acts of exceptional merit by ATF employees who have demonstrated skill, ingenuity, loyalty and devotion to duty. The ATF Honor Award recognizes significant contributions made by non-ATF employees who have helped the agency accomplish its mission.
