St. Anthony Regional Hospital welcomes Dr. Randal Hess, radiation oncologist, to the St. Anthony Cancer Center. Dr. Hess specializes in gynecologic, prostrate, skin, head and neck cancer treatment. It was a parent’s fight with cancer that brought Dr. Hess to a desire to practice medicine early in his life. Now, he brings every patient in as an active participant in their care and treatment. Dr. Hess says, “I take pride in a multidisciplinary approach through educating patients, allowing them to participate in the decision-making process and helping each patient define and achieve their goals. Each patient is special,” Hess said. A father of two daughters, 13 and 19, Dr. Hess is excited to become a member of the Carroll community as he joins the St. Anthony Cancer Care team. Dr. Hess is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He comes to SARH from Blue Ridge Cancer in Roanoke, Va. and is a member of the American College of Radiology, American Medical Association and the American Board of Radiology.
