DMACC Names Cole Chair Of Criminal Justice Program

Jessica Cole, a Criminal Justice Instructor at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), has been named chair of the Criminal Justice program. Cole came to DMACC in 2014 from the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, where she was tasked with tracking down people wanted on outstanding warrants for major crimes. In addition to teaching, Cole has been responsible for the management of DMACC’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) training program, which she has expanded outside of the classroom to on-line classes for TSA agents in six states. Cole is replacing Buzz Hoffman, who has served as chair since 2010, and is retiring after 35 years of service to DMACC. Cole will be responsible for all criminal justice activities at DMACC, including the classes offered at the Ankeny, Boone and West campuses as well as the Southridge, Perry and Hunziker centers.
