The Iowa caucus date has finally arrived, and over 300 people poured into the Carrollton Saturday to listen to another candidate’s viewpoint as Hillary Clinton made her first public appearance in Carroll County. This rally was filled with Hillary supporters, as well as with those who have yet to make up their minds on who will get their caucus vote tonight. Brian Camara of Carroll is one that said he was still weighing his options and is waiting to hear one very important thing before making his final decision.

Clinton, who was traveling the state Saturday with daughter, Chelsea, opened her speech by addressing those voters who were still on the fence.

Clinton told the gathered crowd that the country sees the most improvements in the economy with Democratic leaders in the White House. She claimed more jobs were created during her husband’s and Obama’s tenure than with the last two Republicans and that she is the only candidate, Republican or Democratic, that is saying she will raise your income and not your taxes. She assured the crowd that she will keep Obamacare in place and will bring affordability to education with a tuition program that pays for students’ college educations if they agree to work 10 hours a week for that tuition. She then told the crowd about her vast experience with foreign affairs, while getting a bit of an insult in herself.

Caucuses will be held across the region beginning at 7 p.m. tonight. It is recommended that you are at your location at least a half hour prior to the start time. You can find your caucus site by following the links provided below.
