In last night’s (Tuesday) State of the Union Address, President Obama said he would make his remarks brief so the focus on Iowa in these few short weeks before the Feb. 1 caucus could continue. Although not at the address, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is headed back to our state as well and will be holding a town hall meeting at Brick City in Ames this Saturday morning to take on your questions and discuss the issues facing our nation at home and abroad. The 10:30 a.m. event is free, but RSVPs are encouraged. Later that afternoon, the Concerned Veterans for America Defend Freedom Tour will be coming to the Iowa Events Center at 1 p.m. This free event includes a hot lunch and live patriotic music by country star Ayla Brown and rock band, Madison Rising as well as inspirational speakers, including Navy Seal Gold Star Mom, Karen Vaughn.
