CCSD Board Holds Special Meeting To Discuss Resignations And New Hires

The Carroll Community School District Board of Education held a special meeting at 7:30 this morning (Monday) to review and accept some resignations and as well as discuss hiring for open and new positions. Business office manager, Gary Bengtson said the board did accept the resignation of the band instructor for Carroll Middle School and High School, Laura Rodriguez, contingent upon finding a suitable replacement. Rodriguez has been offered a position with the West Liberty School District, which Bengtson said is much closer to her hometown in eastern Iowa. The board agreed to offer the position to Jennifer Keys, who is currently a substitute instructor for the Ames, Colo-NESCO and Marshalltown school districts. The board also approved the hiring of eighth-grade science, third grade and high school social studies instructors. In addition, offers were made to fill some summer school positions and to hire Nate Wall and Mark Renning for the shared varsity girls’ basketball coaching position.
