Carroll County Supervisors Award Box Culvert Project

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors held two public meetings this morning (Monday) during their regularly scheduled session. The first was opened at 10 a.m. for box culvert letting that has prospective contractors tying together three projects into a single bid. Carroll County Engineer, Dave Paulson, said they are bidding on two culvert projects to the south and west of Breda on Birch Ave. as well as one that is to the west and north of Templeton. Four bids were opened during the public hearing. Midwest Contracting of Marshall, Minn. submitted a bid of $380,045. Richards Construction of Sac City had a bid of $417,970. Rognes Brothers Excavating of Lake Mills bid the job at $418,069 and Peterson Contractors, Inc. of Reinbeck had a final bid of $406,344. The bid was awarded to the lowest bidder, Midwest Contracting. Paulson said they were pleased with all four of these bids as they were below the engineer’s estimate of $423,830. The second public hearing on the county budget for fiscal year 2017 opened at 10:25 a.m., and we will bring you details on those numbers in an upcoming broadcast.
