With Sheriff Doug Bass’ retirement becoming official effective Tuesday, March 15, there will be a new Sheriff in town as the Carroll County Board of Supervisors approved the appointment of Chief Deputy Ken Pingrey to the position at this morning’s (Monday) meeting. Supervisor Mark Beardmore made mention that they had been advised that Pingrey is not the acting or interim Sheriff, he is the Sheriff of Carroll County with this appointment. Sheriff Bass recommended Pingrey for the position when he announced his retirement on Jan. 18.
