Carroll County Sheriff, Ken Pingrey, Supports Proactive Measures

Candidates running for local offices have been asked repeatedly about the issues they believe will be faced by the county and the region in the next few years. Carroll County Sheriff Republican candidate, Ken Pingrey, has said that getting drugs off of our streets, which will greatly reduce other types of crimes often seen in our area, and renovation or replacement of the county jail will be the two major areas of focus for the Sheriff in the near future. What he says most people don’t ask about, is what proactive measures the Sheriff’s Office takes in the communities across the county.

He said the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has a broad scope of day-to-day responsibilities.

Because of the many different duties carried out on a daily basis, Pingrey said all staff members are required to wear many hats.

He added, the campaign has provided him the chance to get to know even more of the residents of Carroll County.

Pingrey has a total of 26 years of experience in law enforcement at the county level since graduating from Western Iowa Tech with a criminal justice degree. He served as Chief Deputy under Doug Bass for 10 years, before Bass recommended his appointment as Sheriff upon his retirement this past March. Over this time, Pingrey believes he has proven himself as a Sheriff who is available to the people, willing to handle any call and any situation and he truly wants to continue to keep Carroll County a safe place to live.
