Carroll County Sheriff Doug Bass announced his plans for retirement at the Carroll County Board of Supervisors’ meeting this morning (Monday). Bass has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 43 years and was appointed in 1991. He went on to win an election for the position in 1992 and has been serving the county in that capacity for the 24 years since. Bass’ retirement will be effective March 15.
